Our intellectual property portfolio includes a combination of trade secrets,
proprietary software and pending patent applications. The
Company's intention is to use its IP portfolio in a strategic manner to
provide a competitive advantage in the marketplace. Appropriate strategies
may include combinations of licensing and exclusivity and will be worked out
in coordination with the Company's business development. Although there is
no guarantee that its patent applications will issue as patents, or that any
issued patents will be held valid or infringed by others, BarterSecurities
intends to vigorously protect its patentable inventions under U.S. and
international patent laws.
Our software system, utilizing the latest advancements in software
technology, has been developed and certified against TransactTools ttCert
test suite. It is designed as a three-tier distributed software system
using standard based protocols. This allows for unlimited scalability
without having to modify software.
BarterSecurities has engaged the services of JLB Consulting, Inc. and the
law firm of Morgan & Finnegan to develop a comprehensive patent strategy for
protecting the Company's investment in its innovative products, services and
the underpinning technology. The strategy developed for the Company is
intended to protect its basic concepts, its core products and services, and
the ancillary tools, products and services developed by the Company to
facilitate its business.
BarterSecurities owns four pending regular U.S. patent applications and one
pending PCT application. These applications
claim priority to a series of provisional U.S. patent applications, the
earliest having a filing date of August 5th, 1999. The Company may file
additional patent applications both to expand coverage on its core concepts
and to protect more recent developments.
